At A Rocha, we often describe ourselves as a “community based conservation organization.”  What this means in practice is that volunteers are the heart of what we accomplish as an organization.   Whether it is cooking or serving a meal, pulling invasive species, harvesting and delivering fresh produce for our CSA, restoring a broken window, or helping set up our IT systems, volunteers graciously carry out A Rocha’s work.

Listen to what volunteer Ed Konrad said when asked what he and his wife enjoy about volunteering with A Rocha:

“I am grateful to be able to do a bit of work and have it accepted and appreciated, and to have a chance to get to know others over a bowl of soup.  What has drawn both my wife and I is the chance to work together towards a real and reachable goal, like building a compost shed.… It has come down to what I value in the end.”

A Rocha is growing as an organization and we need your help to fulfill our mission!  Perhaps you are looking for a way to get to know us better and have skills and time to offer.  Give us a call; join us for a meal; let’s chat about how you might be a part of this work of Inspiring Change and Caring for Creation.
