Spring is field trip season at the A Rocha Field Study Centre in Surrey, B.C. Students arrive one or two classes at a time to explore the Centre and get up close and personal with the natural world. The Grade Four’s dip nets in the pond and pull out tadpoles and invertebrates; the Grade Two’s peer through binoculars and spot various bird species from Bald Eagles to Stellar’s Jays to Wood Ducks; and the Grade Seven’s go on a Habitat Hunt and explore the fields, forest and wetlands of the Centre, matching different creatures with their natural habitats. And all come away with a greater appreciation for the intricacies and beauty of creation.
