Project Description
Professor in the Ecosystem Science and Management Program at the University of Northern British Columbia, Dezeneโs research interests include entomology, forest pest management, and plant-insect interactions. Dezene studied Zoology at the University of Calgary (B.Sc.) and completed his Ph.D. thesis on bark beetle chemical ecology at Simon Fraser University. He completed postdoctoral work at the University of British Columbia and also at the University of California, Davis and the USDA-Forest Service. He has been at UNBC since 2005 and has a very active research group with current projects related to insect communication, bark beetle overwintering physiology, aquatic and high elevation insect biodiversity, and plant pathology. He and his wife Joyel, two boys Elijah and Marcus, and cat Chira love living in beautiful Prince George, BC.
