Sturdy, adult-sized bunk beds have been built. New duvets have been purchased. The kitchen has been stocked. And the sofas have been steam cleaned — all just in time for the arrival of 15 interns and one apprentice who have just taken up residency in these new digs for the spring/summer term at Brooksdale.

Located across the pond from the Brooksdale guesthouse, the Hazelmere House is part of a 10-acre addition to the eastern edge of the Brooksdale property. The addition of this lovely home allows us to expand our internship program to keep up with a cascade of interest. Not only are we able to provide more beds to accommodate the growing number of future farmers, educators and ecologists who’d like to train and serve with us, thanks to the spacious living and dining areas there’s room to spread out and enjoy community life in comfort (in contrast to the quaint but cramped former intern quarters :)).

Can you understand why we’re excited?!

We would love your help with the finishing touches! See our  “Wish List” below. We are looking for quality items that will last well into the future.  Please send a photo and description of what you have to internships@arocha.caand we’ll get in touch if it’s what we’re looking for.
