A Rocha HamiltonΒ just held their 3rd annual fundraiser. Over 100 people came together for an evening celebrating the good work of the past year and the good work yet to come.
Kirsten Jeffery Johnson spoke on βThe Company We Keep: Do You Know Your Native Land?β drawing upon imagery of Ontario landscapes as well as the words of Ontario naturalists.

A number of attendees commented on how integrated the evening was — weaving together themes of faith, the arts and creation in words and images. Other attendees commented on how robust A Rochaβs work in Hamilton has become in such a short time. There was an acknowledgment from many that A Rocha had really come into its own in Hamilton.
The event raised a whopping $22,400. The money will be used to build capacity both for a Rochaβs staff and projects. In particular, the team hopes to use some of the funds to build a yurt as a gathering place for groups and day campers at Cedar Haven Farm. In addition, money raised will go to support A Rocha staff in their roles of education, conservation and food security.
