After spending the day working with the community at Brooksdale, Karri Munn-Venn (Senior Policy Analyst with Citizens for Public Justice) will be giving a presentation on local environmental action, political engagement, and how both are needed as part of our Christian response to the global climate crisis.

(Senior Policy Analyst โ€“ Citizens for Public Justice)

Inspired by the Old Testament call โ€œto seek justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God,โ€ (Micah 6:8) and driven by the belief that, working together, we can build a better world, Karri is an enthusiastic advocate for positive social change.

Karri has over fifteen years experience in the international development community and a strong background in policy analysis, network coordination, and government relations. She co-chaired the Global Economic Justice Program Committee of KAIROS and sat on the International Affairs Committee of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. She was also the Coordinator of the Canadian Council for International Cooperationโ€™s Americas Policy Group for several years.

As Citizens for Public Justice’sย Seniorย Policy Analyst, Karri provides leadership in organizational efforts to influence systemic change to eliminate poverty in Canada and address climate change globally. She was the founding Coordinator of Dignity for All: The Campaign for a Poverty-Free Canada, andย co-editor of Living Ecological Justice: A Biblical Response to the Environmental Crisis (2013) and Living Justice: A Gospel Response to Poverty (2011).

Karri has a Masterโ€™s Degree from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (Carleton University) and an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Studies and Political Science (York University). Sheย attends All Saints’ Anglican Church (Westboro) with her husband and three young children.
