On November 17, A Rocha joined forces with Regent College, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, and Preston Manning to host a forum in Calgary titled, “Energy, Environment, and Faith”.   The featured speakers were Preston Manning, former leader of the Official Opposition party in Canada, Paul Williams, head of the Marketplace Institute at Regent College, and Markku Kostamo, Executive Director of A Rocha Canada.  A writer from the Calgary Herald (Graeme Morton, Nov 22, 2008) summed up the proceedings well: “Christians are being called to act as thoughtful mediators in the crucial debate between environmental protection and industrial growth.” To read his published article, click here.  The presenters spoke before a packed audience and engaged in a lively question and answer time. Despite the environmental challenges presented, the overall message was one of hope as Christians work for the restoration of creation.
