The Mountain View, Alberta Community Group recently took home 1st prize (out of 126 entries!) for the booth they set up at the Didsbury Trade Fair.  The booth’s main feature was a 20 foot-tall “garbage tree”, which grabbed the attention of the over 4,000 attendees.  Thanks to the prominence of the booth, the A Rocha volunteers were able reach their objectives of raising awareness for A Rocha’s work, promoting a “Didsbury-Plastic-Bag-Free” initiative, and fostering awareness and appreciation for local food through a partnership with a local nursery and tea room.  For more information on how to start a community group in your area please contact the A Rocha national office!
