In March, Roxy and Matt Humphrey, A Rocha’s Community-Life Coordinators at Brooksdale Environmental Centre, had the privilege of taking our interns to Whistler for three days of learning with the Whistler School. The Whistler School is a part-time discipleship school where students live and work and study in Whistler, BC. Matt taught three afternoons on creation care themes–centering each day on three of the basic necessities for life: shelter, food, and water–and weaving together the wisdom of Scripture with basic ecology. Students were challenged to consider creation care as a normal and integral part of their Christian lives. A Rocha’s interns enjoyed getting to know the students in the Whistler School, as well the chance to strap on cross country skis and enjoy a bit of R and R away from their education and conservation duties back at Brooksdale. We look forward to an ongoing and mutually beneficial relationship with the Whistler School.
