We are delighted to introduce Scott Gerbrandt, A Rocha’s newly appointed and first-ever Manitoba Director serving the Winnipeg area. Scott currently serves as the Western Field Director for Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship and will officially transition to his A Rocha role in late August.
Scott will be based out of Canadian Mennonite University’s new Centre for Ecological and Economic Resilience in Winnipeg. Local to Winnipeg himself, Scott is a visionary leader and team builder — skills that will be invaluable as he leads the emerging staff team and develops the A Rocha Boreal Ecology Centre and A Rocha’s work in Winnipeg.
Programming will focus on five complementary areas: scientific research and community-based conservation projects, environmental education, retreats, food security, and church outreach.
A Rocha will continue to have a presence in southern Manitoba through our partnered project, The Pembina Valley Interpretive Centre; and we look forward to the mutually beneficial cross-pollinization that is sure to occur between the two areas.

We are grateful to DREW Foundation for significant seed funding that enables A Rocha to launch the A Rocha Boreal Ecology Centre and Winnipeg activities.
