Oftentimes when people ask us what we are “doing” in our work with A Rocha, we fail to communicate the overall purpose for why we are doing it.  Whether it is through sharing meals together, raising chickens, running Earthkeeping Institutes or evening lecture series; all of our activities at A Rocha do in fact have a larger goal.  Here are some of the things we hope will occur through our actions:

• We hope to further awaken people to the goodness of God’s creation, both through encounters with creation and dialogue with others.

• We hope that the A Rocha centre will both be an oasis for people to be restored and also a springboard that will push them further towards a life that is ever mindful of God and all of His creation.

• We hope to be a model of Shalom (where the well-being of all living things is taken into account).
