It’s that time of year folks, when zucchini is being harvested (almost) every day! Whole recipe books have been created for these eager vegetables, and for good reason. Here at A Rocha Brooksdale we are growing four varieties of zucchini. The patty pan zucchini is one that may appear in your box; and although it is slightly roundish/oval in shape, it still tastes like a typical zucchini.
Eggplant was also harvested today, with its beautiful purple skin. Although not enough to put into the shares this week, you may be seeing some eggplant in the near future. People have some great ideas with eggplant, and I look forward to posting recipes too. Hooray for vegetables!

This week’s veggies:
• Lettuce
• Beets
• Carrots
• Cucumber • Zucchini
• Tomatoes (!!!)
• Basil
• Broad beans or snap peas
• Celery
• Sorrel*

Sorrel is a green leafy perennial with a tangy, lemony taste that can be a nice addition to salad or pureed into a soup.
