Our Community Garden Coordinators Gathering at the beginning of October was a success. We hit it off sharing what we’ve been working on and the latest challenges we were facing in our own Community Gardens. We also gave out baggies of Crimson Clover to encourage soil stewardship back at their Community Gardens.
There were 13 of us, keen to offer support and suggestions, while learning from what others have tried. It was the first meeting together and we only scratched the surface but new connections were made encouraging us to conspire and work together. We each left wanting more time to meet (more to be planned for 2014)!
Our event piggybacked on the A Rocha Brooksdale Harvest Celebration and we joined in on the fun activities – like pressing fresh apple cider, harvesting all the different varieties of squash together and enjoying the tasty pumpkin soups!
