Project Description
Nature as a place of hope and healing
Thea Jeane Stewart Anderson loved to play outdoors, befriending creatures and bringing a peaceful presence with her wherever she went. As the daughter of the BC Centre Directors, David and Shauna Anderson, she found joy in exploring nature and truly loved growing up at the Centre. On May 22nd, 2016 Thea passed from death to life after an 18-month journey with leukemia. She was 10 years old.
In her memory, A Rocha has set up a Day Camp Bursary so more children can explore creation and know the love of their Creator in this special place.
The Thea Fund
Sponsor a Child for Day Camp
A Rocha’s spring and summer day camps areΒ full of games, stories, crafts, pond-dipping and singing in the great outdoors, all of which allow children to explore the created world in a safe and wonder-filled environment.
How does my donation help?
Your sponsorship for Day Camp will allow children from families living on low-income and newcomers to Canada to experience the awe and wonder of creation, love it, and want to care for it. Many of these children have never attended a Day Camp before and they do not have many opportunities to learn about creation.
While your gift will be supporting childrenβs education at Brooksdale, if the need for that location has been fully met, your gift will be put to good use supporting other aspects of our Brooksdale general budget.
Thank you for donating!
