Children’s Education Coordinator

Marisa officially started working with A Rocha Canada’s Northern BC project in September of 2025 as the Children’s Education Coordinator, but had connections to the Buck Creek Hatchery and Nature Centre prior to this. Cindy and Marisa go to the same church and when Cindy mentioned that she was looking for someone to take over the children’s education, Marisa was excited to explore this opportunity of flipping over rocks to look for bugs with kids! Marisa now shares her time between fostering curiosity with school groups, day campers and visitors and working as a substitute teacher in the Bulkley Valley. When she is not working, Marisa is likely going down some rabbit hole and becoming a “why kid” once again on whatever topic has piqued her interest that day or pointing out the many mushrooms, plants, insects or other things she has learned about on some backcountry adventure with her friends.
