Through hands-on stewardship we’ll be continuing the control of Common Buckthorn and Norway Maple by transplanting native shrubs and trees growing on the trails into locations where those two invasive trees are being removed.

Once established, Common Buckthorn and Norway Maple dominate and substantially reduce biodiversity–including the loss of the brilliant reds and oranges of our native maple species. Our replacing the invasive plants with native ones significant to reversing the spread and negative impact of the invasive ones and for increasing biodiversity.
