Introducing A Rocha Saturdays!

This September we are launching a monthly event where we will engage together in creation care activities such as hikes, park and creek clean-ups, bird watching and restoration and conservation of the places we love. After September A Rocha Saturdays will always happen on the second Saturday of the month.

To honor the theme of “Walking Together” for this year’s internationally celebrated Season of Creation, we will be kicking off our A Rocha Saturdays with a 4 km hike in one of Winnipeg’s fabulous urban forests- the Bois des Esprits. This 117 acre riparian woodland is the longest continuous protected riverbank woodland in Winnipeg with several diverse oxbow, or u-shaped, wetlands.

We will meet east of Royalwood Bridge, at Shorehill Dr. & St. Anne’s Rd. on the large open greenspace. You can park in the Extra Foods Parking lot on St. Anne’s Rd. We will meet at 9:30 am, hike starts at 9:45. We will hike rain or shine, so dress for the weather.
