The Planet Heroes day camp from July 11 – 15 was a blast of learning and fun! Children from a variety of backgrounds joined us sharing their variety of knowledge of the world that surrounds us. Throughout the week kids became aware of our role in climate change, and then encouraging them with what we can do to slow the process down. They learned we were created to care for nature and, with lots of hope, we can work hard to improve the damage done to nature.
One of the children who had recently moved to Canada seemed to really enjoy the camp. Much of what we taught was new to her, as she was hearing it in a new language. But that didn’t stop her asking questions and diving into the new experiences.

Overall, it was great to see the range of knowledge within the whole group of children that came. The groups turned out to be sorted well, with each having children who could teach their friends that didn’t know much of what was being taught. And the whole group certainly had a great energy to take part in all areas of the activities we ran. The week was a great success for their holistic development and giving them the encouragement of having hope for God’s creation.
