It's that time of year again - hummingbird banding season!

We are a control site in an annual pesticide study (i.e. where birds aren't exposed to pesticides). Swipe to see how we take measurements and samples, including urine samples!

Fun fact: if we drank as much as hummingbirds per body weight, we'd need over 200 litres of sugary drink a day!
