Cindy Verbeek, who works part time as a community organizer for A Rocha in Houston, B.C., was recently given the Community Hero award by LiveSmart B.C.  The provincial program recognizes those working hard to make their communities more environmentally sustainable.  Over the past year Cindy has spearheaded a plethora of initiatives and activities to ‘green’ Houston, including  a community garden, Earth Day celebrations, and Living Lightly seminars, to name a few.  Way to go, Cindy!
