How the Garden Started….

Alexandra Community Gardens came out of the interest and passion of the neighbours in our community of South Surrey / White Rock through dialogue, mentorship and engagement with other local garden models. Over 45 volunteers have been involved in over 500 volunteer hours including weekly planning meetings, 1 community consultation session and 3 work parties to date.

The Alexandra Community Garden Begins!

Our vision is to create a vibrant community gathering place where neighbours can connect, learn and grow together. We will continue to build activities and opportunities for neighbours of all ages and cultures to garden, learn and share about where their food comes from.

Alexandra Community Garden Mission Statement:

•To allow opportunities for non-profit, recreational, organic gardening for residents of the Semiahmoo Peninsula

•To provide horticultural advice and shared experiences amongst members and to encourage people to undertake organic gardening

•To perpetuate an awareness of the natural processes of food growing

•To engage community members through community building activities
