Why Creation is Waiting for the Christians
The question of why nature matters is now critical. Over recent decades, we have witnessed the thinning of life on earth and the collapse of ecosystems and habitats. At its heart, this crisis comes down to human decisions about what matters. It would appear from the actions and choices of most societies that people don’t believe nature matters. So why does nature matter?

About Peter Harris

Peter and his late wife Miranda founded A Rocha, a family of conservation organizations in over 20 countries working together to live out God’s calling to care for creation, in 1983. The A Rocha story is told in Peter’s books, Under the Bright Wings and Kingfisher’s Fire. A Cambridge graduate and Anglican minister, Peter has served as Adjunct Faculty at Regent College, Vancouver and Au Sable Institute, Michigan. In his retirement, he continues to serve A Rocha as a volunteer, developing ways to create jobs and wealth and improve the environment instead of overexploiting it. In 2019, Peter and Miranda were in a horrific road accident in South Africa, which she did not survive, and which he has since spoken about in lectures and on film.

Peter Harris is a persistent and most convincing witness that the Christ who saves and the Christ who creates are one and the same Christ, that the care and celebration of creation is essential to a full evangelical witness of the Gospel of salvation.” – Eugene Peterson
