Adult Day Camp: Hidden Wonders (Surrey, BC)

Spend a day having fun with our professional staff biologists, environmental educators, and farmers. Learn about the natural world in our watershed as we guide you through activities.
Activities will include:
- Moss walk (did you know the connection between moss & cloud formation?)
- Pond exploration (how many different creatures are just a net away?)
- Harvesting veggies from the farm for your lunch
- Preparing lunch & eating together
- Natural dye workshop or bouquet-making workshop with flowers from our farm
Price includes coffee & tea, lunch with our farm’s vegetables, and a take-home of a naturally dyed bandana or bouquet from our farm.
Staff bios:
- Carly is our CSA Farm Coordinator and has been farming for 8 years and she is passionate about the journey from seed to table and has a background in catering farm to table events.
- Grace is one of the Tatalu Conservation Residents at A Rocha. As part of the Environmental Education team, she loves finding beauty in nature and sharing it with others. She enjoys discovering connections to nature through art, literature and more.
- Jessica has been teaching with the education team at A Rocha for 6 years. She loves the diverse ecosystems to teach and learn from at the BC center, including forests, fields, wetlands and farmlands. Jessica has a M.Ed. in Philosophy of Education specializing in environmental and experiential education, and a B.Sc. in Environmental Biology. She’s been teaching in the field of environmental and experiential education for over 25 years.
- Lanie has been a conservation biologist with A Rocha for 3 years. She has a BSc in Ecological Restoration and is a registered Biologist-in-Training with the College of Applied Biologists. Previously an interpretive guide in regional and provincial parks for over 4 years, she loves leading experiential guided walks to connect people with nature.
- Sandra has coordinated the Farm to Families (F2F) program for the last 8 years. F2F connects under-served families, children and seniors to hands-on gardening and cooking education, along with vegetable donations.
