Christian Climate Observers Program (CCOP)
A joint immersive discipleship program with a dozen other Christian organizations, CCOP is training the next generations of climate advocates, with the highly sought after UN climate observers experience, from a Christian and missional perspective.
Successfully admitted participates of CCOP will share in the credentials of our Christian NGO observer organizations, officially recognized by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The participants will have access to the annual UN Climate Conferences (a.k.a. COPs) official venues, to attend those meetings, briefings, workshops, or exhibits open to all observers. They will shadow seasoned professionals, experiencing firsthand the work of a climate summit, acquiring the skills to evaluate the negotiations and ongoing implementation of the important Paris Climate Agreement, and building their own individualized plan for future climate action. The program also include training webinar sessions before the COPs, and daily debriefings during the COPs.

What is Zero Emission Churches (ZEC)?
ZEC is a new, growing and rapidly evolving organization that began with the Canadian Anglican dioceses of Montréal and Niagara. ZEC was begun by people who realized that their fellow church members are convinced by the science; they accept that the planet God gave us needs us to change our behaviour (literally, to “repent”). But many leaders don’t know what to do or where to start. ZEC is committed to helping congregations identify what they could do to be part of the solution to this human problem.
What does Zero Emission Church offer?
-
- Advising leaders of congregations and dioceses/regional groupings
- Stop buildings from producing GHGs
- Reduce Energy Use (and Costs!)
- Creating safe, feasible and simple plans for becoming Net Zero
- Educating leaders and members with reliable options for every church’s situation.
- Advising leaders of congregations and dioceses/regional groupings
