Yesterday came the sad news that John Stott, well known British Evangelical Christian leader, had passed away at the age of 90. Like many others of my generation, I was always helped by his writings, particularly those that expounded the meaning of various books of the Bible. He had a remarkable gift for discerning and communicating the essential teaching of whichever passage he was commenting on. I also had the privilege of hearing him speak at an Urbana Missions Conference I attended as a young adult. His passionate plea for a balance of evangelism and social action made a deep impression on me.
John Stott was a strong friend and supporter of A Rocha, and he will be greatly missed.
