In a conservation workshop held in Morden, Manitoba, Dean Hildebrand encouraged ranchers to “think outside the corral”. In the first of a series of “Nature Talks” sponsored by A Rocha Manitoba Action Projects (ARMAP), Dean described the innovative conservation and agricultural techniques he has used for the past 20 years to maintain a healthy and productive herd of cattle on sustainable, quality grassland.Dean and his wife Tiina (A Rocha’s former Office Manager) run Thousand Hills Ranch and are living proof that conservation and farming can go hand in hand.
