Are you interested in protecting your local forests? Have you ever wondered what you can do to practically help? We have an answer for you! Come to Cedar Haven on March 22nd from 10am-12pm for an A Rocha training session.

We will be focusing on identifying a forest pest called Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA). In this workshop, you will learn the sampling protocol to survey for this insect and the steps you can take to report this devastating species. This insect is moving northward and threatening the health of Ontario Eastern Hemlock in Southern Ontario. If you live near places like Hamilton, Guelph and Toronto we need your help to combat the invasion and protect our forest health!

This event is open to youth and adults age 16+. Please register below.

Sliding Scale Pricing

We believe in the value of our programs and we know you do too! That’s why we have introduced sliding scale pricing this year; we are happy to have you come at any rate you select. Instead of a fixed fee, you can choose from one of three fee options when registering:

  • Subsidized Rate: Choose this one if cost is a barrier to you attending. We are able to offer this option due to the generosity of our supporters, including donors and grants.
  • True-Value Rate: This is what we estimate to be a fair cost for the event. It helps us cover costs of staff, materials, and other fees associated with running the event.
  • Pay-It-Forward Rate: Choose this one if you want to invest in the future of A Rocha programming and help others be able to come at the subsidized rate.

By offering tiered pricing, we aim to balance affordability with sustainability, making our programs accessible while also providing participants with an opportunity to support their community. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at ontario@arocha.ca.
