We wouldn’t be able to do everything we do at Cedar Haven Farm without the help of some fantastic people! Here are a few volunteers that have lent a hand this summer.
Nicola Gladwell has pitched in with outdoor environmental education program lending her expertise and enthusiasm to BioQuest as well as inner-city kids’ groups like the Grub Club.

Ben Robinson has also been a great help with our environmental education at Cedar Haven Farm. When we had over 75 children from Philpott Memorial Church visit during the pouring rain, Ben was keen to teach groups of children how to build effective shelters in the woods.
Justin, a younger friend to A Rocha, has rolled up his sleeves and thrown his efforts into mapping trails, weeding and watering our gardens, and lending a hand in making outdoor education a success.
Ambrose Ng and Hannah Essex have been a boon to Cedar Haven’s large vegetable gardens. From watering to weeding. their labour has been a tremendous blessing during these hot summer days! Both Ambrose and Hannah are passionate about A Rocha’s mission and vision and have helped us with other work on the farm as well.

Special thanks to those who have donated to the vegetable garden at Cedar Haven Farm. Our friend Tony donated many pepper, kale, and eggplant seeds, which we are now beginning to harvest. Thank you to William Dam Seeds who donated many seeds to the “salsa patch” of the garden.
We are always welcoming new volunteers, especially in the following areas:
– Gardeners (work varies seasonally but can include watering, weeding, harvesting, etc).
– Environmental educators (long-term volunteers to assist with curriculum development & short-term on-call volunteers to assist with visitors).
– Skilled woodworkers to help build benches, picnic tables, and other projects.
– Conservation project assistants (skilled ornithologists to help with bird surveys & skilled botanists to help with plant surveys).
