The Pembina Valley Interpretive Centre recently held our second annual dessert fundraiser “Planting a Footprint of Hope.”

It was a fantastic evening where we were able to share our vision to be a place where people can experience peace, inspiration and connection with God from being outdoors and a place where people can learn about nature in a way that fills them with fascination and concern for creation.

We so appreciate all those who came out to learn about and support our work. We especially enjoyed hearing stories from our supporters about why they’re passionate about A Rocha. One couple explained that they had helped a young Great Horned Owl that had fallen from its nest by building it a perch and watching over it until it was ready to fly. Another man told me he loves getting out for over-night trips every couple of months to refresh and meet with God.

We also officially released the interpretive book Footprints of Hope, which follows the Pembina Valley Interpretive Centre’s trails to teach about the ecology of the Pembina Valley. The book is written by our centre’s founder Henry Martens, illustrated by local artist Raymond Klassen, and designed by Yvonne Peters.

It was an excellent evening, but the goodness doesn’t end there.

Donate_Now_MailChimpWe are pleased to announce that the Drew Foundation has agreed to match not only all the donations given at the Planting a Footprint of Hope Fundraiser, but will match any donations we can bring in until May 15th up to $20,000!
