Water is an important part of our ecosystems that connects us to far away neighbours both up-stream and down-stream.

Chelsea Lobson, of Lake Winnipeg Foundation, is the speaker for this Nature Talk. We will learn about watersheds and how to monitor the water quality of our local rivers, creeks, and streams. She will invite us to be involved in a larger effort to monitor Manitoba’s waterways.

This citizen science project through Lake Winnipeg Foundation is an effective way to learn about watersheds and ecology, as well as to actively participate in conservation efforts. Conservation Districts use this data to inform their projects. Participants can take home all the equipment necessary for taking water samples.
