Ticks are increasingly a concern for people who visit and enjoy the Pembina Valley. Although they pose a risk for people who spend time outside, a little knowledge goes a long way in keeping us safe.

Dr. Kateryn Rochon, Assistant Professor of Veterinary Entomology at U of M whose research has a specific focus on ticks, will be presenting on local ticks. Specifically, Dr. Rochon will teach about how ticks fit into ecosystems, the differences between Black-legged Ticks and American Dog Ticks, risks that come from ticks, and how to be safe while outdoors.

It is our hope that this talk can help you be able to go into natural spaces more confidently. After attending this talk, you will better understand ticks and how to be safe around them.
