Intro to Urban Permaculture (Winnipeg, MB)
June 22, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm CDT
| FreeLearn together with us what permaculture is and how we can implement it in our own urban spaces!
Permaculture is “the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive ecosystems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems” (permaculturenews.org). Permaculture takes significant wisdom and inspiration from traditional Indigenous farming practices around the world.
The Metanoia Farmers Worker Cooperative (also known as the CMU Farm) is making a big transition to permaculture, and you’re invited to come along for the journey and learn with them and with us!
During this introductory workshop (the first of three throughout the growing season), we will read and discuss an article about permaculture, talk with the farmers about what their transition to permaculture looks like practically, and then work on building a permanent bed.
Come prepared to learn and work (there are tasks for every body and ability, including observing if that’s what you prefer/are able to do!)
This event is FREE but we do ask that you RSVP below.
Thursday June 22, 7 PM
