Winter Activities, Potluck Supper and “Why Crop Diversity Matters”

2:00 pm: Winter Activities

Join us in Gatineau Park for winter outdoor activities including hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and possibly lake skating (conditions permitting). You can choose your activity. We will lead a group cross-country ski for anyone who would like to join us. We have plenty of cross-country ski equipment available for those who don’t have any. If you intend to snowshoe you will need to bring your own snowshoes.

Meet at 264 Kingsmere at 2:00pm (e-mail us if you need directions or you need a ride).

5:30 pm: Potluck Supper

Please RSVP and let us know what you plan to bring so that we can plan accordingly.

7:00 pm: Why Crop Diversity Matters with the Spruits

Ensuring food security, adapting to climate change, reducing environmental degradation, protecting nutritional security, reducing poverty and ensuring sustainable agriculture are just six reasons why  Tony and Shelley Spruit, farmers of 30 years just outside of Ottawa established “Against the Grain Farms”.  Come and learn how God’s call on their lives to be “keeper’s of HIS seed” has led them on an incredible journey of international travel, scientific research and a line of wholesale and retail products available across Ontario. The Spruits are long-time friends of A Rocha and Shelley has recently visited A Rocha France and will be visiting A Rocha Peru.

If you are unable to attend all three parts of the event, feel free to attend the parts that you can. Please RSVP to let us know if you will be attending and what you will be bringing for the potluck supper.
