Germinating Conversations: What’s for Dinner? Eating in an age of climate emergency
November 3, 2021 @ 7:00 pm CDT
| FreeAbout this event
As global leaders prepare for COP26, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, Manitobans are facing the effects of one of the hottest and driest summers on record. Farmers across the province struggled with crop failure, feeding livestock, water shortages, and wildfires. As a result, prices for food have increased, while food banks have noticed an uptick in clients. The climate emergency has reached our backyards. The ways we eat and dispose of food are leading causes. In the face of this reality, how do we answer the question, “what’s for dinner?”
The Germinating Conversations initiative nurtures relationships between Manitoba food growers and eaters by paying close attention to the art of listening well.
