Environmental literacy in the Northern BC varies greatly. An environmentally literate person can assess the health of an ecosystem, and then take proper action to restore, enhance or maintain that system. Here in Bulkley Valley, some people are well versed in the diversity of creatures that share their home. Meanwhile others rely on creation for their livelihood, but may not yet know how species influence and are influenced by their actions.
A Rocha Canada is working to increase environmental literacy in both church and secular communities. We are engaging and equipping churches from Prince George to Prince Rupert in both the theological grounding for creation care and in the practical on the ground work of stewardship.
