Project Description
Environmental Education Coordinator
Sarah first began working for A Rocha in 2022 as a Nature Academy educator. She more recently joined as the Environmental Education Coordinator and is excited to continue to cultivate rich learning experiences for a wide variety of people at Cedar Haven.ย
Sarah joins A Rocha with lots of educational experiences – from homeschooling her three children to running a school-wide arts program, from teaching therapeutic art workshops in Nicaragua to facilitating income-generating projects in Uganda. Having lived and worked for extended periods outside of Canada, Sarah loves to learn about cultures and see the world through different cultural lenses. Sarah passionately believes that experiential, inquiry-led and place-based learning is not only needed but essential if we want to cultivate a care for and love of creation and the world around us.ย
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys hiking and biking, gardening, making music and creating art. She lives with her husband and 3 kids in East Hamilton.ย
