Project Description
Sitting on a bluff overlooking the Little Campbell River, the heritage Guest House at A Rocha’s BC Centre is a place of welcome and hospitality. Whether coming on retreat or volunteering in creation care work, guests from around the world enjoy the stunning views and cozy setting. The Guest House is the heart and hearth of the Centre.
Designed by Vancouver’s famed architect Ross Anthony Lort and built in the 1930s, the Guest House boasts Heritage status and has a Great Gatsby feel. In an effort to maintain its historical charm and also modernize some of the house’s infrastructure (think: cramped bathrooms and single-pane windows!), A Rocha is committed to modest renovations of this beautiful building over the next three years. These renovations will increase energy efficiency and improve accessibility for folks with mobility issues, allowing this special place to offer an even more hospitable welcome.
Your support will make this happen. Will you give the Guest House a warmer welcome for visitors in years to come?
Will you help us renew the Guest House?
Your generosity will help us allocate a budget of $100,000 over the next three years:
2024
40k: downstairs washroom accessibility and storm window inserts
2025
30k: one upstairs washroom and storm window inserts
2026
30k: one upstairs washroom and storm window inserts
Give the Guest House a warmer welcome today
