Conservation Science Coordinator

Marjorie started working with A Rocha in 2021 as part of the summer staff at the Buck Creek Canfor Hatchery and Nature Centre in Houston BC. At that time she was newly married to her husband Jason and new to Houston, moving from Winnipeg, MB. Marjorie has a B.Sc. in Biotechnology and a M.Sc. in Biochemistry and Medical Genetics from the University of Manitoba. Marjorie became fascinated by A Rocha and their hopeful approach to caring for creation, involving the community. In the fall of 2021 she took on the role of Conservation Science Coordinator. Her work involves raising up to 10,000 coho salmon in the hatchery to be released at the fry stage into the Upper Bulkley River. Otherwise she can be found monitoring habitat and biodiversity out in the watershed.
