Jason got interested in A Rocha via his journalistic and academic work. Journalistically, he found stories of the Kostamos and of A Rocha’s work of repair on the Little Campbell River irresistible. Academically, he saw preaching students at the Vancouver School of Theology come alive when they visited Brooksdale (though he has no memory of what the topic of the course was supposed to be). Apparently, the old field trip approach to education works. His wife Jaylynn is a pastor in North Vancouver and their three sons and their dog are all teenagers. They all have to eat with alarming regularity, which keeps them invested in things like gardens and the rest of creation. For fun they all play basketball and watch movies. Especially the dog.
