Project Description

Insect Surveying

Insects rely on close relationships with other aspects of their environment (ex. spending larval states in water, pollinating wildflowers) and are incredibly important to their ecosystem. They serve as pollinators, pest control, habitat creators, sources of food, and so much more. At Cedar Haven, conduct insect surveys to understand the diversity of insects onsite. Some of our work to-date includes bumblebee monitoring (in partnership with Wildlife Preservation Canada) and dragonfly/damselfly surveys, as each of these groups are crucial to the proper functioning of their habitats.
