Project Description

Barbara Wernick, Science Advisory Commitee

An aquatic ecologist with 15 years of experience, first with the federal government and now with an engineering and environmental consulting company, Barbara is pleased to be living proof of advice she was given at the Au Sable for Environmental Studies many years ago: do what you love and eventually someone will pay you to do it. Her project work takes her to Australia and the Middle East; she teaches coral reef ecology in the South Pacific and stream ecology in Central America.

As a child, Barbara delighted in exploring the seashore along the West Coast of Canada and the streams and lakes in British Columbia’s Interior. More formal studies came later at Trinity Western University, the Au Sable Institute for Environmental Studies and the University of British Columbia.
