Project Description
Brooksdale Site Manager
Alain encountered A Rocha while visiting Portugal in the early 90’s. That visit and his future involvement with the tall ships of the Sail and Life Training Society of Victoria, BC, united his deep love of the created world and his bourgeoning faith.
He and his wife, Karin, spent their first year and a half of marriage volunteering for A Rocha Lebanon, carrying out environmental education and wildlife surveys at the Aamiq marsh.
In 2002, Alain graduated with honours from BCIT’s Fish, Wildlife and Recreation Management program. With two young daughters, they moved to Les Tourades, near Arles, where Alain and Karin jointly filled the roles of A Rocha France’s National Directors and Centre Managers for three years. Before returning to Canada they added a son (and a cat) to their family.
After a ten-year hiatus Alain is delighted to have rejoined A Rocha and the Canadian team in the capacity of caring for Brooksdale’s grounds and heritage buildings.
