DESCRIPTION:Spend your upcoming PA Day at King’s Forest with A Rocha Ontario!\nAt this 1-day nature camp\, your child will have the opportunity to learn about and build a personal connection to the natural world. Each nature camp program will be filled with nature experiences\, science experiments\, storytelling\, nature-based art and fun games! Together\, we will explore nature from both familiar and new perspectives\, building friendships and fond memories along the way. \nThis event is open to children ages 5-13. \nSliding Scale Pricing\nWe believe in the value of our programs and we know you do too! That’s why we have introduced sliding scale pricing this year; we are happy to have you come at any rate you select. Instead of a fixed fee\, you can choose from one of four fee options when registering: \n\nAccessible Rate: Choose this one if cost is a significant barrier to you attending and/or you identify as a member of a community facing systemic barriers to wealth accumulation (ie. you identify as BIPOC\, single-parent household\, low-income family\, etc).\nSubsidized Rate: Choose this one if cost is a barrier to you attending. We are able to offer this option due to the generosity of our supporters\, including donors and grants.\nTrue-Value Rate: This is what we estimate to be a fair cost for the event. SUMMARY:Grassland Bird Conservation Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Come and join A Rocha as we search for threatened grassland birds! Grassland birds have seen the steepest declines (-67%) in Canada of any bird group since 1970. We will be meeting on June 6th at 8am at the A Rocha Ontario Centre (1440 Westover Road\, Millgrove\, ON) to learn about grassland bird conservation and explore what A Rocha is doing in Ontario to protect and restore these important species at risk. This event will take place during peak breeding season for Bobolink\, Eastern Meadowlark\, and Grasshopper Sparrow. DESCRIPTION:We are partnering with the City of Winnipeg Naturalist Department to match churches with public spaces that need trees planted. \nThe next tree planting day is happening on June 6\, 2026 for Arbour Day! We will meet at Bruce Park.  The event will run from 10 am – 2pm\, but but volunteers would be welcome to help setup and take down from 9am-3pm. This event is in partnership with Trees Winnipeg. \nAll you need are gloves\, good footwear\, and some water to drink and the city will provide the shovels and the trees! \nPlease RSVP. We’d like to get a good sense of how many people will be joining us so we can have enough shovels and trees. Thanks!
