SUMMARY:Church Earthkeepers: Let's Share (Oct 1\, 2025)
DESCRIPTION:This Month’s Church Earthkeepers: Let’s Share: \nDo you connect to God while on a walk in the forest? Do you sense the nearness of the Spirit when your hands are in the soil? Does the marvel of a hummingbird invite you to praise? Join us as we explore how connecting to God in and through creation draws us closer to the heart of God. \nSign up  \nAbout our facilitator: \nRick Faw has played a key role at A Rocha Canada since 2004 and now serves as Education Director. With training in both science (BSc) and theology (MCS)\, he has a unique ability to help people connect their spiritual lives with the natural world. Passionate about teaching and his love of the outdoors\, Rick makes his home at Kingfisher Farm in Surrey\, BC\, with his family. \nMore about the Monthly Church Earthkeepers Meet-Up: \nAre you mobilizing your church to care for creation? Do you wish more people shared your interest? Then join like-minded folks for a Church Earth keepers Meet-Up. At these monthly sessions we’ll learn from each other by swapping stories as a way to encourage and equip us to catalyze earth keeping at church. Come prepared to share your ideas and to hear what works for others as we build a network of regular people working to care for creation within a local church setting. \nSpecial Note: \nWe’re excited to share that Church Earthkeepers Meet-Ups will follow a new rhythm and we will now meet earlier at 9.30AM to 10.45AM PDT / 12.30PM to 1.45PM EDT. We hope this change creates more space to connect\, learn\, and be inspired together. \nNot able to make the meet-up but keen to find out more? Wherever you’re at\, we’re here to walk with you. SUMMARY:EarthKeepers Club (October 2025)
DESCRIPTION:The EarthKeepers Club is a space for youth (ages 11-17) to connect with others their age that have similar interests in the environment and conservation. An example of a typical day might look like a work project to remove invasive species in the morning\, followed by a discussion over lunch about what it means to be a good steward\, and wrapping up by catching and identifying dragonflies in the afternoon. Through this program\, we aim to make a tangible impact and have fun along the way! \nThe EarthKeepers Club currently has no cost to join and runs from April-October\, usually on the second Saturday of each month. We are able to offer 3 volunteer hours for high school students that participate in a program day. This is the last meeting of the 2025 season. \nRegistration\nBook your ticket to let us know you’re coming! If this is your first time participating in the EarthKeepers Club in 2025\, please also complete the registration form below. \n\n \n Book Ticket(s)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n Complete Registration Form\nRegistration Form

SUMMARY:Churches Caring for Creation: Idea Exchange (Hamilton\, ON)
DESCRIPTION:What can churches do to care for creation?\nJoin A Rocha Ontario\, True City and St. Cuthbert’s Church on Saturday\, October 18th for our joint event “Churches Caring for Creation – Idea Exchange.” \nBuilding from last year’s event\, we are inviting you to join us to explore and discuss how Christian communities and their leaders can get involved with creation care. More people are becoming interested in making creation care part of the way they serve God and neighbour\, but sometimes it can be hard to know where to start or where to go next on this journey. So join us for an afternoon of inspiration\, conversation\, and encouragement!  At this event\, we’ll hear stories and insights from experienced panelists from different congregations. Click here (or scroll down) to learn more about our speakers/panelists: Cindy Stover\, Marcée Lane\, and Rob Miller. We’ll also have the opportunity to ask our panel questions and engage in smaller group discussions to share creation care tips\, ideas\, and challenges. \nThis event will be hosted at St. Cuthbert’s Church (Hamilton\, ON) from 1PM – 3PM\, and is open to adults. Light refreshments will be served. \nAnyone interested is welcome to attend. Whether you’re in a leadership role or not\, a member of a church or not\, please come and join the conversation. Register (for free) below. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\nChurches Caring Creation: Idea Exchange Event - Registration\n\nRegistration for the Church's Churches Caring for Creation - Idea Exchange event is free! Cindy seeks to empower people to bear the image of Creator God as we enact justice in every area of our lives\, from how we shop\, to how we talk to our neighbours\, to how our communities respond to the most vulnerable. She can often be found reading a good book around a campfire\, or watching a BBC miniseries with her cats and a cup of tea. Her favourite colour is sparkle. \nMarcée Lane\nAs a pastor at Forestview\, Marcée and her church want people to meet Jesus and become more like him. One of the ways that they seek to do this is by loving creation better. In the past\, Forestview had a beekeeping ministry and currently\, they partner with A Rocha Ontario by hosting three bird boxes as part of Project NEST. Forestview also founded an outreach in Burlington called Next Door Social Space (NDSS) that includes Rolling Horse Community Cycle and Next Door Community Kitchen. NDSS is an expression of Forestview’s creation care because it refurbishes old bikes\, promotes green transportation\, and uses rescued food & community gardens to create meals for the community. \nRob Miller\nRob Miller is an Anglican Missioner-Priest to the city of Hamilton. He works with ecclesial communities to nurture their appreciation of place and capacity for presence. The beginnings of both The Community of Common Prayer and the Saint Luke’s Mission are associated with his leadership. Presently\, he is interested in the phenomena of repentance\, mercy\, and gratitude; movements of the heart he considers essential in the pursuit of hospitality. Living in the North end of Hamilton with his family\, Rob spends his days walking\, reading\, and playing the fiddle.

SUMMARY:Why Creation is Waiting for the Christians: An Evening with Peter Harris (Langley\, BC)
DESCRIPTION:Why Creation is Waiting for the Christians\n\n\nDeVries Auditorium\, Trinity Western University \nParking info https://www.twu.ca/life-twu/campus-services/parking-servicesCampus map https://www.twu.ca/visit/campus-map \nPlan to arrive early – seats will be held until 6:50pm! \n*Registration is only required for those who are not Trinity Western University students or employees \n\n\nThe world is facing what has been called a polycrisis\, one which certainly implies damage to both climate and all forms of life on earth. But is the good news that Christians believe in\, relevant to these times? We will explore how it is\, and what it means for some of the most impoverished human communities and the threatened ecosystems that sustain them.\n \n“The good news of Jesus is meant to be written in the landscapes and not just in people’s lives.” – Peter Harris\n \n\n— \nAbout Peter Harris \nPeter and his late wife Miranda founded A Rocha\, a family of conservation organizations in over 20 countries working together to live out God’s calling to care for creation\, in 1983. The A Rocha story is told in Peter’s books\, Under the Bright Wings and Kingfisher’s Fire. A Cambridge graduate and Anglican minister\, Peter has served as Adjunct Faculty at Regent College\, Vancouver and Au Sable Institute\, Michigan. In his retirement\, he continues to serve A Rocha as a volunteer\, developing ways to create jobs and wealth and improve the environment instead of overexploiting it. In 2019\, Peter and Miranda were in a horrific road accident in South Africa\, which she did not survive\, and which he has since spoken about in lectures and on film. \n“Peter Harris is a persistent and most convincing witness that the Christ who saves and the Christ who creates are one and the same Christ\, that the care and celebration of creation is essential to a full evangelical witness of the Gospel of salvation.” – Eugene Peterson \n— \nNOTE: this event will not be recorded or livestreamed. \n— \nThis event is co-sponsored by A Rocha Canada\, the Canadian Scientific & Christian Affiliation\, and Trinity Western University (Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences\, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences\, Geography and Environment Department\, Trinity Western Environmental Club).

SUMMARY:PA Day Nature Camp - Salvation Army Winterberry Heights Church (Stoney Creek\, ON)
DESCRIPTION:Spend your upcoming PA Day at Salvation Army Winterberry Heights Church with A Rocha Ontario!\nAt this 1-day nature camp\, your child will have the opportunity to learn about and build a personal connection to the natural world. Each nature camp program will be filled with nature experiences\, science experiments\, storytelling\, nature-based art and fun games! Together\, we will explore nature from both familiar and new perspectives\, building friendships and fond memories along the way. \nThis event is open to children ages 5-13. \nSliding Scale Pricing\nWe believe in the value of our programs and we know you do too! That’s why we have introduced sliding scale pricing this year; we are happy to have you come at any rate you select. Instead of a fixed fee\, you can choose from one of four fee options when registering: \n\nAccessible Rate: Choose this one if cost is a significant barrier to you attending and/or you identify as a member of a community facing systemic barriers to wealth accumulation (ie. you identify as BIPOC\, single-parent household\, low-income family\, etc).\nSubsidized Rate: Choose this one if cost is a barrier to you attending. We are able to offer this option due to the generosity of our supporters\, including donors and grants.\nTrue-Value Rate: This is what we estimate to be a fair cost for the event. It helps us cover costs of staff\, materials\, and other fees associated with running the event.\nPay-It-Forward Rate: Choose this one if you want to invest in the future of A Rocha programming and help others be able to come at the subsidized rate.\n\nBy offering tiered pricing\, we aim to balance affordability with sustainability\, making our programs accessible while also providing participants with an opportunity to support their community. If you have any questions\, please reach out to us at ontario@arocha.ca. \nPayment & Registration\nPlease purchase 1 ticket per child you wish to register. After purchasing your Eventbrite ticket(s)\, please make sure to also fill out the registration form below. \n\n \n Purchase Ticket(s)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n Complete Registration Form (MANDATORY)\nRegistration Form\n\n \n If this program is cancelled due to low enrolment or health and safety restrictions\, payment will be fully refundable. \nReach out to us at ontario@arocha.ca if you have any questions or visit arocha.ca/pa-day-nature-camp.

SUMMARY:Church Earthkeepers: Let's Pray (Oct 2025)
DESCRIPTION:This Month’s Church Earthkeepers: Let’s Pray: \nThe Psalmist notices that creation declares the glory of God. But we all recognize that creation is also groaning. While we each experience creation’s praise and creation’s groaning in particular ways\, we are all invited to join the Spirit in praying for God’s world. Let’s gather together to celebrate and lament\, to be encouraged in our earthkeeping efforts and to cry out to the One who sees every sparrow. To arrange a conversation with our team\, reach us here.

SUMMARY:Why Creation is Waiting for the Christians: An Evening with Peter Harris (Winnipeg\, MB)
DESCRIPTION:The founder of A Rocha International is coming to Winnipeg and you are invited to come hear him speak. Peter Harris has been involved in the global nature conservation movement for over 40 years. Peter will be giving his talk Why Creation is Waiting for the Christians. \nThe world is facing what has been called a polycrisis\, one which certainly implies damage to both climate and all forms of life on earth. But is the good news that Christians believe in\, relevant to these times? We will explore how it is\, and what it means for some of the most impoverished human communities and the threatened ecosystems that sustain them. \n“The good news of Jesus is meant to be written in the landscapes and not just in people’s lives.” – Peter Harris \nRefreshments will be served after. \nThis event is hosted by A Rocha in Manitoba in partnership with Faith Covenant Church and Canadian Scientific & Christian Affiliation \nLocation: Faith Covenant Church – 1229 Windermere Ave  \nTime: Oct 30\, 2025 – 7:00 PM \nPlease register below. Limited spots available. \nAbout Peter Harris \nPeter and his late wife Miranda founded A Rocha\, a family of conservation organizations in over 22 countries working together to live out God’s calling to care for creation\, in 1983. \n“Peter Harris is a persistent and most convincing witness that the Christ who saves and the Christ who creates are one and the same Christ\, that the care and celebration of creation is essential to a full evangelical witness of the Gospel of salvation.” – Eugene Peterson
