SUMMARY:Winter Activities\, Potluck Supper and “Why Crop Diversity Matters” (Ottawa\, ON)
DESCRIPTION:Winter Activities\, Potluck Supper and “Why Crop Diversity Matters”\n2:00 pm: Winter Activities\nJoin us in Gatineau Park for winter outdoor activities including hiking\, snowshoeing\, cross-country skiing and possibly lake skating (conditions permitting). You can choose your activity. We will lead a group cross-country ski for anyone who would like to join us. We have plenty of cross-country ski equipment available for those who don’t have any. If you intend to snowshoe you will need to bring your own snowshoes. \nMeet at 264 Kingsmere at 2:00pm (e-mail us if you need directions or you need a ride). \n5:30 pm: Potluck Supper\nPlease RSVP and let us know what you plan to bring so that we can plan accordingly. \n7:00 pm: Why Crop Diversity Matters with the Spruits\n\nEnsuring food security\, adapting to climate change\, reducing environmental degradation\, protecting nutritional security\, reducing poverty and ensuring sustainable agriculture are just six reasons why  Tony and Shelley Spruit\, farmers of 30 years just outside of Ottawa established “Against the Grain Farms”.  Come and learn how God’s call on their lives to be “keeper’s of HIS seed” has led them on an incredible journey of international travel\, scientific research and a line of wholesale and retail products available across Ontario. The Spruits are long-time friends of A Rocha and Shelley has recently visited A Rocha France and will be visiting A Rocha Peru. \n If you are unable to attend all three parts of the event\, feel free to attend the parts that you can. Please RSVP to let us know if you will be attending and what you will be bringing for the potluck supper.

SUMMARY:Grasslands People (Morden\, MB)
DESCRIPTION:When did you last spend time in a grassland? They are beautiful and fascinating places full of different grasses\, birds\, flowers\, and bugs. Some grasslands are prairie preserves\, some are lawn alternatives\, and others are pasture for raising cattle. However\, despite their value\, these grasslands are disappearing. Join us in learning more about the grasslands in our community! \nLeanna Wiebe will teach us about local grasslands – their value\, management\, and future – by sharing the experiences of the people in our community who care for and enjoy these grasslands. Leanna Wiebe has just completed a study of local grasslands with the Pembina Valley Conservation District and the RM of Stanley. \nWednesday March 21st\n7:30pm-9:00pm\nMorden Library\n514 Stephen Street\, Morden
