Come and discover the wonderful things that are happening in nature around Brooksdale this Fall.\n\nFor children Grade K – 7.\nCamp runs from 9am to 3pm.\nCome dressed for an active day outside (rain or shine). Wear gear for the weather: hats\, boots and sun/rain protection. (No umbrellas\, please)\nBring extra set of clothing and socks.\nBring your own snack (both morning and afternoon)\, lunch & water bottle.\nBring hand sanitizer.\n\nHow to Register \nRegistration is a 3-step process: \n1. Sign up\, and make payment through Eventbrite. If you would like financial assistance- Contact us for more information. \n2. Download and complete the Day Camp Registration Form and Parent Information & Agreement Form. (Note: You don’t have to submit the forms if your child has attended one of our 2022 programs\, unless info has changed.) \n3.  Return forms by 7 days prior to the day you registered for. Features of this trail include panoramic views of the fall colours in Gatineau Park\, the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley. Note: if it is a nice day\, traffic will be heavy in the village of Old Chelsea and on the Gatineau Parkway\, so give yourself plenty of travel time to arrive by 2:30 pm. \n5:30 pm: Potluck Supper  \nShare a meal with us! Please RSVP to let us know what you plan to bring. \n7:00 pm: Presentation \nAfter supper\, Karen Castro will talk about how she transformed most of her front lawn in Kanata to a native plants garden this summer. Then\, the Heintzman family will talk and show slides about their multiple visits to A Rocha’s Brooksdale Environmental Centre in Surrey\, BC and their visit to A Rocha’s Boreal Ecology Centre in Manitoba in 2020. By maintaining a stream (pun absolutely intended) of knowledge about the river\, we can learn about the health of the system and the biodiversity it supports. Maintaining an awareness of the Boggy River can also lead us to asking new questions and open new opportunities for research\, learning\, and conservation.\nWHO: You! We’re looking for willing volunteers who care about creation and nature conservation. Sign up below if you specifically want to join the restoration work! \n  \nGet your hands dirty planting native trees and shrubs\, removing invasive vegetation (such as Himalayan blackberry or English ivy) and much more. \nThe team will meet at Brooksdale Environmental Centre (1620 192 St – Surrey\, BC) and will travel to the restoration site from there. DESCRIPTION:Spend an evening at Cedar Haven under the stars.\nJoin us around the campfire for a family-friendly time of community and stargazing. Bring a lawn chair or blanket\, a flashlight\, and dress appropriately for the weather.
