DESCRIPTION:The EarthKeepers Club is a space for youth (ages 12-16) to connect with others their age that have similar interests in the environment and conservation. An example of a typical day might look like a work project to remove invasive species in the morning\, followed by a discussion over lunch about what it means to be a good steward\, and wrapping up by catching and identifying dragonflies in the afternoon. Through this program\, we aim to make a tangible impact and have fun along the way! \nThe EarthKeepers Club currently has no cost to join and runs from April-November\, on the second Saturday of each month. DESCRIPTION:The John Stott memorial birding day is a global one-day event run by A Rocha on May 11\, 2024 to commemorate and celebrate A Rocha’s great friend and supporter John Stott’s legacy as a theologian\, pastor and birdwatcher in his centenary year. Whether you are a novice or an expert birder\, we invite you to join friends old and new to head into the great outdoors and enjoy the birds wherever you are in God’s good creation. For more information on this day check out the John Stott Birding Day website. \nA Rocha Manitoba will be heading out to the Boreal Ecology Centre for the day to do some recreational birding\, have an outdoor picnic lunch together\, and walk the trails.  \nWhen: May 11\, 2024 – 9 am – 3 pm (although you are welcome to come earlier!)\nWhere: Boreal Ecology Centre (East Braintree\, MB) \nOur aim will be to walk as many of the trails on the property as we can\, so be sure to come equipped with proper hiking gear. This includes layers\, waterproof hiking shoes or boots\, hiking poles\, and backpack. Binoculars are also an asset – bring a pair if you have them. \nPlease bring your own bag lunch. DESCRIPTION:The EarthKeepers Club is a space for youth (ages 12-16) to connect with others their age that have similar interests in the environment and conservation. An example of a typical day might look like a work project to remove invasive species in the morning\, followed by a discussion over lunch about what it means to be a good steward\, and wrapping up by catching and identifying dragonflies in the afternoon. Through this program\, we aim to make a tangible impact and have fun along the way! \nThe EarthKeepers Club currently has no cost to join and runs from April-November\, on the second Saturday of each month. He also edited two editions of the book Earthkeeping. DESCRIPTION:Join A Rocha’s Brooksdale conservation team for a morning of habitat restoration and enhancement.\nGet your hands dirty planting native trees and shrubs\, removing invasive vegetation (such as Himalayan blackberry or English ivy) and much more. \nThe team will meet at Brooksdale Environmental Centre (1620 192 St – Surrey\, BC) and will travel to the restoration site from there. All ages welcome to participate! Please bring your own water bottle (and gloves if you have a favourite pair); tools and other equipment will be provided. \nHope to see you there! \nNote that this is our *final* restoration event for the season.
