With training in both science (BSc) and theology (MCS)\, he has a unique ability to help people connect their spiritual lives with the natural world. Passionate about teaching and his love of the outdoors\, Rick makes his home at Kingfisher Farm in Surrey\, BC\, with his family. \nMore about the Monthly Church Earthkeepers Meet-Up: \nAre you mobilizing your church to care for creation? Do you wish more people shared your interest? Then join like-minded folks for a Church Earth keepers Meet-Up. John is remembered as a theologian\, pastor and avid birdwatcher. So to honour his legacy\, we are welcoming all to join us for a morning of recreational birding at the A Rocha Ontario Centre!\nTo ensure that everyone\, regardless of experience level\, is able to participate in and enjoy this day to the fullest\, we are offering 2 sessions for this event: the Early Bird(er) and the Flock. Each session will be roughly 2 hours long. \n\nThe Early Bird(er) session will begin at 7:30am and is designed for experienced birders. This session will feature a quieter\, guided bird walk around the property that will allow for more focused and peaceful observation of the birds onsite.\nThe Flock session will begin at 9am and is designed for new birders and families. This session will be very beginner-friendly! Please register below for the option you would like to attend: \n\nBoreal Ecology Centre: recreational birding\, outdoor picnic lunch together\, and walking the trails.\nMeet at 9 am at the centre (East Braintree\, MB)\nOur aim will be to walk as many of the trails on the property as we can\, so be sure to come equipped with proper hiking gear. This includes layers\, waterproof hiking shoes or boots\, hiking poles\, and backpack. What might happen if our church grounds more intentionally reflected this story? \nIn this practical and inspiring webinar\, Paul Wiemerslage will guide church leaders through the key design steps for creating a native plant garden on church property\, from discerning goals and assessing your site\, to selecting the right plants and preparing the soil. He will also address the question of maintenance\, offering realistic guidance on what to consider ahead of time so that these gardens can thrive long term. \nAlong the way\, we’ll explore how native plant gardens can be places of welcome for both human and non-human creatures\, as well as support other aspects of congregational and missional life. Join us as we learn how to create houses of worship that glorify God by contributing to the flourishing of all God’s creatures. \nNote: The event will be recorded. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a week of day camps over spring break where we will explore the many types of light that show up in the natural world! \n\n\n\n\nThis week will be all about light! This will include daylight\, sunrise/sunset\, Northern Lights\, astronomy\, the moon and the sun. \nMarch 23-27: Ages 8-12\, 9am-3pm daily \nMax 10 kids per day \nCost: $40/day (You can register for one\, two or all five days!) *If you register for all 5 days it will be $180 which is $20 in savings! \nInstructions: Bring your own water bottle\, snack\, and lunch and dress for the weather! \n\n\n

SUMMARY:Peek Into Spring Day Camp (Surrey\, BC)
DESCRIPTION:Join A Rocha for our Spring break daycamp! We’ll investigate the river\, wetland\, soil and forest with hands-on up-close activities!\n\n\n\nPeek into our Spring break Day Camp! We will spend every day (9am-3pm) outdoors\, exploring the wetland\, forest and soil at A Rocha’s Brooksdale Environmental Centre. Look for signs of spring through hands-on activities\, games\, songs and crafts! \nBring your own snacks (both morning and afternoon)\, lunch and water bottle. Come dressed for activities in the outdoors\, rain or shine. Wear a hat\, and bring an extra layer and waterproof outer jackets for wet days. Boots required for rain! Bring an extra set of clothes\, just in case. (*please no umbrellas–we need our hands) \n\n\nFor children ages 6 – 11 (finished Kindergarten). \nA Rocha is a Christian environmental stewardship organization and our camp will include short reflections on Creation Care.  \nFor inquiries\, please email education.bc@arocha.ca or call 604 542 9006.  \nSliding Scale Pricing \nWe believe in the value of our programs and we know you do too!
