With a land mass totaling approximately the size of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia\, the 21 million people put extreme pressure on the land for survival. At the same time\, Malawi has a large number of Christians. How can they faithfully respond to the acute environmental crisis they face (but have not necessarily created) and continue to advocate for the poorest of the poor? \nVivian and Blair Bertrand lived in Malawi from 2017-2020. Vivian worked for an NGO called Churches Action Relief Development (CARD) and for the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). She currently works for Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). Blair continues to work for Zomba Theological University as a Senior Lecturer.
