DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, May 9th is John Stott Memorial Birding Day! On this day\, we celebrate a great friend and supporter of A Rocha\, John Stott. John is remembered as a theologian\, pastor and avid birdwatcher. So to honour his legacy\, we are welcoming all to join us for a morning of recreational birding at the A Rocha Ontario Centre!\nTo ensure that everyone\, regardless of experience level\, is able to participate in and enjoy this day to the fullest\, we are offering 2 sessions for this event: the Early Bird(er) and the Flock. Each session will be roughly 2 hours long. \n\nThe Early Bird(er) session will begin at 7:30am and is designed for experienced birders. This session will feature a quieter\, guided bird walk around the property that will allow for more focused and peaceful observation of the birds onsite.\nThe Flock session will begin at 9am and is designed for new birders and families. This session will be very beginner-friendly! It will begin with an orientation to birding and birding etiquette\, and will include a guided bird walk as well as other optional activities for children and families.\n\nThis event is open to adults and families. Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult. \nRegister FOR FREE below! DESCRIPTION:Join us for an A Rocha volunteer day as we move into stage two of our native plant propagation work! After weeks of cold stratification\, many of our seeds are now ready to be transferred into seed trays in the garden. We’ll also be checking on early seedlings that are beginning to emerge and potting them up to support healthy growth. If time allows\, we’ll pitch in on preparing a new native plant garden space at the top of the hill. Come get your hands in the soil and help bring this season’s native plants to life!\n\n\n \n\n\nAdults and families are welcome to participate. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult.\n \nRegister below.
